This Class A Noxious Weed is found in limited distribution in Stevens County, where it is invasive and difficult to control in open range lands or pastures. Eradication of clary sage is required in King County. In Western Washington, clary sage is sometimes sold as a garden ornamental. Clary sage can be distinguished by the large, colorful bracts found beneath each flower. However, sage species are difficult to distinguish so it is best to get an expert identification before removing.
