WIC shopping at the Farmers Market

Thank you for your interest in summer Farmers Market Benefits!

Eligible WIC participants can get this special, one-time benefit at any of our Farmers Market events in June. The full schedule of events will be available on this page in May 2024. Until then, you can read more about the program and learn how to shop at approved Farmers Markets and Farm stores below. Monthly Fruit and Vegetable benefits can also be used at approved year-round Farmers Markets in our area:

Farmers Market benefits

Farmers Market benefits are available during the summer only. This is a special one-time benefit that can be added to your WIC account once for the season (June 1 – October 31).  

Eligible WIC participants can receive $30 of Farmers Market benefits, with a maximum of $90 per family.  

Is my family eligible?

Farmers Market benefits are available to WIC participants who are at least one year old and actively enrolled in the WIC program.

How can I access my Farmers Market benefits?

WIC Participants can use their WIC QR Code to spend available monthly Fruit and Vegetable benefits AND summer Farmers Market benefits at approved farmers markets and farm stores.

  • Get a WIC QR code

    A quick response (QR) code is a type of bar code that stores information and can be read by a digi-tal device, like a smartphone. For example, many restaurants offer a QR code that you can use to access their menu online.

    WIC Families can access their QR Code on the WICShopper App.

  • Load benefits

    This summer, WIC families in King County can come to any of our WIC events listed below to get Farmers Market benefits loaded into their account.

    Bring your WIC card and another form of ID. We can only issue Farmers Market benefits to adults who are listed in an account.

    Click an event title below to see information, get directions, and copy a Farmers Market benefit event to your personal calendar.

How to shop with WIC benefits at the farmers market

To use your Farmers Market benefits, the family must:

  • Have an active WIC account
  • Have a WIC QR code
  • Have benefits labeled "Fruit and Veg - FMNP" or "All Fruit & Veg – WIC" in the family's WIC benefit balance
  • Shop at WIC-approved farmers markets and farm stores. Check the WICShopper app or the list of authorized farmers markets and farm stores for locations near you.

Save your WIC QR code

Save your WIC QR code multiple ways to make sure you have it when it's time to shop at your local WIC-approved farmers market or farm store. For example, you could:

  • Take a screenshot of the QR code to save on your phone.
  • E-mail a picture of the QR code screenshot to yourself.

What if I don't have a QR code or need a replacement?

Most families can now access their WIC QR Code on the WIC Shopper App.

If it is after July 1 and you cannot access your QR code, please call 1-800-841-1410. Press option 1, then option 2 to reach a customer service representative.
