Judge Joe Campagna
Judge Joe Campagna was elected to the King County District Court in 2018. He is a graduate of Houghton College (New York), and of Vermont Law School, where he was an editor of the Vermont Law Review. Prior to his election, Judge Campagna was an attorney with the law firm Schroeter Goldmark & Bender in Seattle. As an attorney, Judge Campagna represented individuals in dozens of courts all over Washington, in cases ranging from misdemeanors to felonies, and in civil matters from personal injury cases to complex transactional disputes. In that role, he also volunteered his time to help clients file clemency petitions, request asylum in immigration court, and with everyday legal problems at free legal clinics.
Through all this work, Judge Campagna has gained a deep understanding of the ways in which our court system affects people's lives. He is dedicated to making sure every person in his courtroom receives a fair hearing from a thoughtful, informed and hard-working judge. Judge Campagna is excited to implement therapeutic and community court models to address the underlying problems that bring many people into contact with our court system.
Judge Campagna lives in Shoreline with his wife and two young children, where he is a member of the local Rotary Club.
