Probation Officers monitor compliance with probation conditions as the court directs under a General Administrative Order, unless otherwise directed in writing by the sentencing or supervising judge. Probation Services are currently provided for high impact and repeat offenders, such as those convicted of violent offenses, and Driving Under the Influence. Probation services are provided for unincorporated areas in the King County District Court,  Regional Mental Health Court and the King County Domestic Violence Court, as well as to 12 cities that contract for traditional services. There are currently four  Probation Mental Health Specialists, one Domestic Violence Court Unit Probation Officer, and 11 traditional court Probation Officers divided among five locations:

  • Issaquah (serving Redmond and Issaquah)
  • MRJC (serving MRJC,  DV Court and Burien)
  • Seattle (serving Seattle, the Regional Mental Health Court, and Veterans Court)
