King County DCHS’s Behavioral Health and Recovery Division supported JustCARE. JustCARE responds to the needs of unsheltered individuals requiring behavioral health support through intensive case management and hotel-based temporary lodging.

King County DCHS supported JustCARE between April 2020 and June 2022. The program was initially a short-term COVID-19 emergency support response and eventually evolved to more intensive case management and long-term stabilization planning. Starting in 2022, JustCARE gained access to additional housing resources, facilitating clients’ transition to permanent housing. JustCARE continues to serve clients beyond June 2022 and information about outcomes beyond this point will be available through a University of Washington evaluation study.
