Utility work to require intermittent lane closures on Cedar Grove Road for the next several days

Summary

A pipeline inspection and repair project will require intermittent lane closures on Cedar Grove Road SE between SE Lake Francis Road and the Maple Valley Highway starting Thursday, Oct. 15, through early next week. Drivers should expect delays or plan alternate routes.

Story

Intermittent lane closures on Cedar Grove Road SE between SE Lake Francis Road and the Maple Valley Highway will impact traffic through early next week as utility crews with King County’s Solid Waste Division inspect and repair a partially blocked wastewater pipeline.

Traffic will be reduced to one lane in either direction, and drivers should expect short delays or plan alternate routes. Flaggers will direct traffic during work hours, which could extend into the evening hours. No overnight work is expected.

The closures will enable crews to work safely to find and remove a blockage in a portion of the 7-mile pipeline that carries leachate (wastewater) from the Cedar Hills Regional Landfill to King County’s South Treatment Plant in Renton. People with questions can call the Solid Waste Division customer service desk at 206-477-4466, or the Road Services Helpline at 206-477-8100.
