ABOUT US

Pharmacy Integration into PrEP and ART Provision and Retention, or PIPAR, is a statewide demonstration project, intended to integrate pharmacies throughout the state into a coordinated public health program that will expand PrEP (Pre-exposure Prophylaxis) access and promote greater retention in HIV treatment and PrEP use. It is a collaboration between the Washington State Department of Health (DOH), Public Health – Seattle & King County (PHSKC), and University of Washington (UW), and includes clinical providers, local health jurisdictions, pharmacies, and community-based organizations (CBOs).

PIPAR group relationships

PIPAR main activities include:

  1. Pharmacy-based PrEP initiation and management
  2. Pharmacy-initiated efforts to promote retention and reengagement for HIV treatment (antiretroviral therapy [ART])
  3. Pharmacy-initiated efforts to promote retention and reengagement for PrEP
