EEO policy statement - Information for employees

EEO Policy Statement

Dear King County Metro Colleagues:

Thank you all for your hard work and your ongoing efforts to make sure that Metro is a great place to work.

As you know, as an organization Metro is committed to fostering an inclusive and engaging work environment where all employees can be their best to benefit the region we serve.

One foundational part of that commitment is to ensure that our work environment is free from discrimination. To that end, we are distributing Metro’s updated Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) policy statement.

This policy statement reaffirms that Metro is an equal opportunity employer (i.e., one that attempts to allow everyone the same chance of employment). The statement clearly states our commitment to non-discrimination. It also clarifies that along with our EEO Officer, all Metro executives, management, and supervisory staff share in the responsibility for advancing Metro’s non-discrimination policy.

Finally, as the General Manager, I am personally committed to a workplace that embraces its daily responsibility to treat all applicants and employees equitably and with dignity and respect. I know that you will join me in this commitment.

Please take the time to review the policy statement and feel free to contact your manager or our EEO/Equity and Inclusion staff at 206-477-9454 or MetroEEO@kingcounty.gov if you have questions.

Respectfully,

Michelle Allison
General Manager
