Now’s your opportunity to help Metro learn about transit gaps in your community

Wish you had a better way to get around in your community? You’re not alone. Transit has become a top issue for people who live, work and go to school in Bothell and Woodinville – that’s why Metro Transit is inviting you to take a transportation needs survey to help identify where there may be service gaps preventing you  from getting around town.

As part of its innovative Alternative Services program, Metro is joining with residents and area employers to identify potential transportation improvements in this rapidly growing area of King County. Through this program, Metro works collaboratively with local governments, community groups and riders to identify transit services that are cost-effective and offer improved choices. Services might include concepts such as customizable shuttles or vans, app-enabled ridesharing or even bicycle libraries.

The program kicks off with an opportunity to go online to tell Metro about the types of transit or mobility services you think are needed. Through this online survey, Metro will have a better understanding of emerging travel trends, where service gaps exist and where more customized alternatives may better serve riders. Metro is particularly interested in learning more from riders traveling to the University of Washington Bothell and Cascadia College campuses. You are asked to complete the survey by January 15.

This survey will be followed by a second survey in February to gather feedback from the public. Metro anticipates developing tentative recommendations this spring.
