News release: Holiday schedules ahead for Metro Transit, Water Taxi service

Story

Reduced schedules and reroutes in effect during Thanksgiving holiday

King County Metro Transit reminds riders that some buses will operate on reduced schedules during several holiday periods in the coming months. The King County Water Taxi also has service changes on upcoming holidays.

On Thursday, Nov. 24, Thanksgiving Day, Metro will operate Sunday schedules. On Friday, Nov. 25, Metro will operate a reduced weekday schedule on some routes and reduced UW service. Reduced weekday service offers more service than on weekends, but somewhat less service than on normal weekdays. Details are posted on Metro’s holiday and reduced service page.

On Friday, some downtown Seattle bus routes will be rerouted for the Macy’s Holiday Parade and the annual lighting of the Westlake Center tree. Those routes include: 7, 8, 10, 11, 43, 47, 49, 111, 143, 157, 158, 179, 190, 212, 214, 217, 252, 257, 268, 301, 308, 312, and ST routes 522, 545, and 554. Riders should check Metro’s online service advisories for more specific information for each route.

Metro offices, including the customer information phone line, and Lost and Found and Pass Sales counters, will be closed Nov. 24 and 25. The Customer Information Office at 206-553-3000 will reopen Monday morning, Nov. 28.
