UW service reduced during winter break

King County Metro Transit riders are reminded that buses will operate on Sunday and reduced weekday schedules through Jan. 2, 2017. Details are posted on Metro’s holiday and reduced service page.

Metro offices, including the Customer Information center, Lost and Found and Pass Sales counters, will be closed Sunday, Jan. 1 and Monday, Jan. 2.  The Customer Information Office at 206-553-3000 will reopen Tuesday morning following the holiday weekend.

Sunday schedules will be in effect Sunday, Jan. 1, 2017 – New Year’s Day, and Monday, Jan. 2 (Observed).

The reduced weekday schedule and reduced UW service will be in effect on:

• Thursday, Dec. 29 - Friday, Dec. 30 – winter holiday period, weekdays only
• Monday, Jan. 16, 2016 – Martin Luther King Jr. Day
• Monday, Feb. 20, 2016 – President’s Day

On days with reduced weekday schedules, some commuter and school-oriented routes do not operate, and other routes have individual trips canceled. Also, Metro makes some adjustments to routes that serve the University of Washington. When the UW is not in session, there will be some bus trip reductions. Normal UW service resumes Jan. 3

Many routes will have no changes. If the route is not listed below, it has no changes when reduced weekday service is in effect.

King County Water Taxi

The King County Water Taxi does not operate West Seattle or Vashon service on Sunday, Jan. 1 (New Year’s Day) and Monday, Jan. 2,  nor will DART Shuttle routes 773 and 775.
