King County Metro Transit, the West Seattle Water Taxi and the Seattle Streetcar will operate Sunday schedules for Memorial Day (Monday, May 28). The Vashon Water Taxi will not be in service on the holiday.

Got plans this weekend? Metro has options for those headed to the Northwest Folklife Festival, to watch the Mariners, or even to hike the great outdoors.

But check bus schedules before you go. Metro bus routes that do not normally operate on Sundays will not be in service on Memorial Day. Customers can find more information on Metro’s holiday and reduced schedule service page.

Metro offices, including the Customer Information phone line at (206) 553-3000 and Lost and Found and Pass Sales counters, will be closed, and will reopen Tuesday, May 29. 

Other holiday transit service notes:

• The West Seattle Water Taxi will operate a Sunday schedule on Monday, May 28, Memorial Day, as will DART routes 773 and 775.
• The Vashon Island Water Taxi route will not operate on Monday, May 28.
• The South Lake Union Streetcar and the First Hill Streetcar will operate a Sunday schedule with 15-minute frequencies on Monday, May 28. 

Some weekend travel options:

• Northwest Folklife Festival at Seattle Center: Ride Metro bus routes 1, 2, 3, 4, 8, 13, 24, 32, 33 or the RapidRide D Line. Routes 5, 26, 28, 40 and the RapidRide C and E Lines also travel to within walking distance of Seattle Center.
• Trailhead Direct: This transit-to-the-trails service operates weekends and holidays from the Mount Baker light rail station in South Seattle to the Issaquah Alps, and from the Capitol Hill light rail station to Mount Si and Mount Tenneriffe. Trailhead Direct is a partnership between Metro, King County Parks, the Seattle Department of Transportation, REI Co-op and Clif Bar and Company. Regular fares apply.
• Mariners/Sounders FC: Ride regularly-scheduled transit to Safeco Field and CenturyLink Field. Check for post-game reroutes.
