With restrictions about COVID-19 rapidly changing, please check with individual departments to be sure a building is open before you seek in-person service. Also, some downtown buildings are not open to the public due to a project to close the Administration Building and relocate the agencies affected. This project will continue until early 2023.

Driving directions

From the south

  1. Take I-5 Northbound
  2. Take exit 164A, following signs to James Street.
  3. Take James Street exit
  4. Turn left on James Street
  5. The building is on James between Fourth and Fifth Avenues
  6. Arrive at 500 Fourth Ave. (entrances on Fourth and Fifth) 

From the north

  1. Take I-5 Southbound
  2. Take exit 165A toward James Street
  3. Continue on 6th Avenue
  4. Turn right on James Street
  5. The building is on James between Fourth and Fifth Avenues
  6. Arrive at 500 Fourth Ave. (entrances on Fourth and Fifth) 

From I-90 west

  1. Take I-90 Westbound
  2. Take exit 2C right, I-5 Northbound
  3. Take exit 165A toward James Street
  4. Continue on 6th Avenue
  5. Turn right on James Street
  6. The building is on James between Fourth and Fifth Avenues
  7. Arrive at 500 Fourth Ave. (entrances on Fourth and Fifth)

  1. Goat Hill parking garage (entrance on Jefferson Street between Fifth and Sixth Avenues; street address is 415 6th Ave. across the street from Chinook Building); for pricing, please call 206-652-0849. King County employees receive discounted parking here.
    • EV charging stations are located on level P7 (six stations as of 12/2017).
