The monthly “Good Eggs” breakfast hosted by King County Councilmember Pete von Reichbauer featured Sound Transit CEO Joni Earl on Wednesday. Earl spoke about growing ridership, extending light rail to Kent and eventually Federal Way, addressing parking issues at transit centers, and overcoming revenue challenges. Earl also fielded questions from the audience, which included more than 25 business, education and government leaders from the community.

“We are fortunate to have Joni Earl with us here this morning to discuss the growing transportation needs of South King County”, said Councilmember von Reichbauer.
“Under Joni’s tenure, the agency has built new transit centers, park-and-ride lots, and HOV access lanes throughout Central Puget Sound. I look forward to continuing to work with Joni on further increases to Sound Transit service in South King County.”

Sound Transit was formed in 1999. ST Express Buses offers service to SeaTac Airport, Downtown Seattle, and Bellevue; Central Link Light Rail runs from SeaTac Airport to Downtown Seattle; and the Sounder Train carries commuters from Auburn and Kent Stations to Downtown Seattle.
