A project to improve the reliability of a portion of wastewater line that runs from King County’s Cedar Hills Regional Landfill to the South Treatment Plant in Renton is set to begin Tuesday. The work will include temporary traffic revisions along Cedar Grove Road Southeast.

For about two weeks, utility crews with King County’s Solid Waste Division will work in the westbound lane of Cedar Grove Road Southeast near Southeast 180th Street to install two new access vaults and new valves. The additions will control wastewater flows and allow easier access to the pipeline for camera inspection and debris removal.

Traffic control will be in place during construction hours, which are set for 5:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday. No weekend work is planned.
