King County crews quickly stop equipment malfunction and overflow at sewer maintenance hole in Auburn

King County crews quickly responded this afternoon to a wastewater spill at a sewer maintenance hole in south Auburn. Cleanup crews are on site.

Story

King County workers today quickly stopped a wastewater spill at a maintenance hole near the Lakeland Hills Pump Station in the City of Auburn. Crews responding to the incident were able to restart the pump station 40 minutes after the spill began.

Cleanup crews are on the scene. County staff posted caution signs along Oravetz Place Southeast, near the maintenance hole.

The cleanup is being coordinated with the City of Auburn. Employees repaired the control system and are estimating the volume of the wastewater.
