Garbage
Collection services for residents and businesses
Garbage collection in King County is carried out by private service providers, or haulers, except in Enumclaw and Skykomish, which provide their own garbage collection. Two national companies, Waste Management, Inc., and Allied Waste, provide most of the collection services in the county. These companies do business under several different company names depending on which area of King County they serve. Cleanscapes, a local company, serves the City of Shoreline. Waste Connections, Inc. provides hauling services on Vashon Island.
The City of Seattle is not included in King County's service area. If you live within the city, contact the City of Seattle Public Utilities external link at 206-684-3000 for assistance.
