Vaccines for Children (VFC) program
For King County health care providers
In effort to streamline operations and support, the VFC program was consolidated in July, 2018. Providers should contact the Washington State Department of Health (DOH) for the following activities:
- Vaccine ordering and approvals
- Vaccine accountability submission
- Provider agreements
- Vaccine storage and handling
- Vaccine reporting, incidents, returns, and wastage
- Use of the Immunization Information System (IIS)
- Program technical assistance
To reach DOH, email WAChildhoodVaccines@doh.wa.gov or call 360-236-2VAX (2829).
Public Health – Seattle & King County will remain the primary contact for VFC enrollment and for all site visit related activities.Vaccines for Children (VFC) was established in 1993 to remove the barriers of cost and access to attaining childhood immunizations. The program is funded by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the State of Washington, and supplies vaccines to providers across the state.
Most public and private health care providers who immunize children in King County are currently enrolled. All children from birth up to the 19th birthday are eligible to receive these vaccines; see below for vaccine-specific restrictions.
