Story

In observance of Labor Day, King County Metro Transit operates a Sunday/holiday schedule on Monday, Sept. 5.

Labor Day transit service

The holiday schedule means many commuter bus routes will not be in service on Labor Day. If your bus does not normally operate on Sunday, it will not operate this upcoming Monday.  Bus riders should check the schedule for route information, as well as scheduled event and construction reroutes. Sunday fares are in effect on all Metro service on Labor Day.

Metro offices, including the Customer Information Office, will be closed on Monday. Most transit information and the Puget Sound trip planner are available on Metro OnlineThe King County Water Taxi operates a Sunday schedule on Labor Day for the West Seattle route. There will be no Labor Day service on the Vashon route.

Riding transit is a good way to get to area events and celebrations. Even when affected buses are rerouted, they usually still get close to event venues near their routes. Use the regularly published Sunday schedule for your bus on Monday, but expect delays wherever there are crowds or traffic congestion.

Bumbershoot at Seattle Center

While Metro does not operate shuttles or other special or additional service for Bumbershoot at Seattle Center over the holiday weekend, there is plenty of regularly scheduled transit service that serves the festival.

Routes 1, 2, 3, 4, 8, 13, 24, 32, 33 and the RapidRide D Line serve Seattle Center directly, while routes 5, 26, 28, 40, 62 and the RapidRide C, D and E lines go to within a few blocks.
