Executive thanks Deputy Chief of Staff Joe Woods for six years of service

Summary

Deputy Chief of Staff Joe Woods, one of Executive Constantine's closest aides, has been recruited by a local consulting firm.

Story

King County Executive Dow Constantine announced today that one of his closest and long-time senior aides, deputy chief of staff Joe Woods, has been recruited by a local consulting firm.

Woods is joining Pacific Public Affairs as Vice President to consult and advise clients on a wide range of complex public relations and communications matters.

"Joe joined my County Council staff in late 2008 and grew into one of my most trusted advisors. He has played an integral role in many of my successes as County Executive, and fostered strong working relations with County Councilmembers and policy makers,” said Executive Constantine. “One of the consequences of having a great team is that the players get recruited for new opportunities. I thank Joe for his excellent service over the last six years and wish him well in this exciting new role, in which others will now also benefit from his counsel.”

“It has been an honor to work for such an inspiring and innovative leader in service of the people of King County,” said Woods. “I thank Executive Constantine for giving me the opportunity to serve the public as a member of his impressive management team. It was a tough choice, but I leave knowing the County is in a much stronger position than when we arrived, and it will only get stronger under the Executive’s continued leadership.”

Woods previously served as Executive Constantine’s council relations director, and started as a legislative aide when Constantine served on the King County Council.

Woods’ last day with King County will be Feb. 19.
