Tips for Success

Log into King County’s Online Vendor Registration (OVR) system to set up your account and receive automatic email notifications of publicly advertised procurements.

Small Contractors and Suppliers (SCS) certification makes your small business eligible for special considerations.

If you plan to submit a bid or proposal, add yourself to the holders list for that procurement.

You will automatically receive notifications for addenda instead of check the website for answers to your questions, changes to the procurements, or changes to the due date.

Add yourself to the holders list for any procurement in our Online Vendor Registration (OVR) portal.

Pre-bid or pre-proposal meetings are your chance to have a conversation with the project manager and technical experts regarding the procurement.

King County is not legally permitted to receive any submittal after the deadline - no exceptions.

King County does not accept electronic submittals. We must receive the original documents to our office before the deadline. We recommend you mail your bid or proposal several days in advance, or it deliver in person.

If your company is not awarded the contract, you can ask for a debrief meeting. In the debrief, the County will explain where you lost points, and what you can do better on the next bid or proposal you submit.

The debrief meeting is not to compare your bid/proposal to that of that of the “winning” bid/proposal.

Living Wage

Companies awarded a King County contract are required to pay their employees a living wage.
