When You Call…

  • Stay calm.
  • Don't get excited.
  • Take a deep breath.
  • Speak clearly
  • State the problem you are reporting
  • Listen carefully to the questions asked and instructions given
  • Be prepared to answer the following:
    • Location of the problem – full address and nearest cross street
    • Your name
    • Phone number you are calling from
  • Let the 9-1-1 operator control the conversation. Answer all questions.

Do not call 9-1-1 or the non-emergency number to find out about things like street closures, weather, laws or local regulations.
