Kent Industrial Valley
Metro and the City of Kent are working to bring new transportation services to the city’s growing communities.
In June through September 2018, we asked people who work in the Kent Valley to help us identify local transportation needs that might be filled through our Community Connections program.
We used the feedback we received to develop three new transportation options for the Kent Valley. Based on your feedback, King County Metro and the City of Kent agreed to move forward with the implementation of all three solution concepts.
Three transportation options
Why the Kent Valley?
The Kent Valley is the fourth-largest center for manufacturing and distribution in the U.S. Many of its workers have schedules that don’t allow them to use current bus service. Also, the terrain and pedestrian environment in the valley present challenges that make it difficult for the area’s diverse and growing workforce to get to or from their jobs.
Community Connections outreach is part of Metro’s Mobility Division. Metro is committed to becoming a mobility agency that both provides public transportation and combines new travel options. By becoming a mobility agency, Metro is positioned to fulfill our mission: Provide the best possible public transportation services and improve regional mobility and quality of life in King County. Community Connections outreach contributes to this vision by identifying and implementing new and innovative mobility solutions that complement public transit in King County.
