For Access-eligible riders
Want the freedom to make a same-day trip without a reservation? On-Demand service is ready when you are. These pilot services allow Access-eligible customers to make trips anywhere within Southeast Seattle, Tukwila, Renton Highlands, Sammamish, the Juanita area of Kirkland and the Kent Valley.
Why?
We've heard from Access customers that they want to be able to take trips without an advanced reservation. Starting with limited service areas, we want to test whether these services can better serve our Access-eligible customers in an efficient and cost-effective manner. Please let us know how they work for you!
Who is eligible?
Any Access-eligible customer, including conditionally-eligible Access customers. This service is recommended for customers who need curb-to-curb service and is not recommended for customers who require door-to-door or hand-to-hand service. This service cannot do scheduled trips only ASAP bookings.

Via to Transit
Service area:
Southeast Seattle, Tukwila and the Renton Highlands

Monday - Saturday 5 AM - 1 AM
Sunday 6 AM - Noon
How to book Via to Transit
Using the app
- Download the "Via to Transit" app
- In the Menu button, enter your Access ID number into the promo code field
- Enter the address of your starting point and the address of your destination
- Select "book this ride"
- Be at pick up location at designated time
- Arrive at your destination
By phone
- Call 206-258-7739 to request a ride and tell dispatch that you are an Access rider
- Confirm trip with dispatch
- Provide drop off and pick up location
- Be at pick up location at designated time
- Arrive at your destination
- Note: Via does not accept cash
Ride Pingo to Transit

How to book Pingo Point-to-Point
Using the app
- Download the "Ride Pingo" App
- Enter your Date of Birth and ACCESS ID
- Enter origin and destination
- Select "request your ride"
- Be at pick up location at designated time
- Arrive at your destination

- Provide dispatch your Access ID, Birthday and pickup/drop off location

Community Ride

How to book a Community Ride
Using the app
- Download the "Community Ride" App
- Enter destination in "where to?" box
- Be presented with a trip option, click "select community ride"
- Be at pick up location at designated time
- Arrive at your destination

Frequently asked questions
- On-Demand service costs the same as a Metro bus ($1.00 for Regional Reduced Fare Permit cardholders).
- Pay your fare using your ORCA card upon boarding. Using an ORCA card lets you transfer fares between Via to Transit and other transit (buses, Link light rail, Sounder Train, etc).
- Transit GO Ticket is accepted (select “bus” as mode of travel) and lets you transfer fares between On-Demand services and Metro buses.
- For Via: Credit cards, debit cards, and stored value/prepaid cards are accepted in the Via app/call center, but do not provide transfers to buses or light rail. For Via, cash fare payment and paper transfers are not accepted.
- For Ride Pingo and Community Ride: Cash, transfers and/or human service tickets are accepted.
After you set your Pickup and Drop-off in the app or over the phone, you will get an estimated time until your Vehicle arrives.
For Via, when your vehicle is 2 minutes away, you'll receive text message to let you know that your ride is getting close. When your vehicle arrives, you'll get another text to let you know!
Yes! In the Via app, click on the menu button and tap your account icon in the top left of your screen. From there you will find a Fare/Service Types button, tap this and then choose any disabilities that apply, including whether you need a wheelchair accessible vehicle.
If you’re using the phone rather than the app, just let the Via customer service representative know you need a wheelchair accessible vehicle.
The wheelchair ramp, located in the rear of the vehicle, is designed to accommodate up to 800 pounds and can accommodate wheelchairs up to 36" wide.
Ride Pingo and Community Ride vehicles are all Wheelchair accessible.
Yes! A personal care attendant can ride free with you.
