22nd Annual King County Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration

  • Time: 12:00 noon to 1:00 pm

Celebrate the memory of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and honor the achievements of individuals in this region whose life and work are shining examples of Dr. King's goal of being judged by the "content of their character."

Please join us for this free noon hour event titled "Breaking Barriers," which will also feature:

  • A musical performance by the Paul Rucker Quartet.
  • Recognition for King County young people whose inspirational writing earned a 2009 Essay Award.
  • Employee Humanitarian Awards for King County staff who have heeded Dr. King’s call to service.
  • Limited copies of the 2009 MLK Calendar and event button

Television Broadcast: The event will be broadcast on King County Television Channel 22 for those who cannot attend. King County TV will broadcast the show on the following dates:

  • January 16 at 7p.m.,
  • January 17 at 2:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. and
  • January 18 at 9:30 p.m.
