Vashon-Maury Island Groundwater Protection Committee
The Vashon Maury Island Groundwater Protection Committee (VMI GWPC) serves the Vashon-Maury Island community (see a map of the VMI GWMA ). The Committee began its work in late 2001 and has continued to meet since that time. In 2004, 2008, and 2012, the Committee recommended that the County Council extend the term of the Committee beyond the following year December sunset date. The Council approved these extensions (ordinance 15082, 16724, and 17750).
The Vashon-Maury Island Groundwater Protection Committee is working to protect groundwater in part by implementing the Groundwater Management Plan and Watershed Plan as summarized in the Watershed Plan Implementation Matrix.
