NOTICE OF RULEMAKING – BOH 24-01

A Regulation to Revise the Food Establishment

Annual Permit Fees for New Applicants

Pursuant to its authority under RCW 70.05.060, the King County Board of Health hereby gives notice of proposed rulemaking to adopt revisions to the King County retail food establishment permit fee regulations.  The purpose of the proposed rulemaking is to establish quarterly proration of annual food establishment permit fees for new, first-time permit applicants.  The rule replaces the current half-yearly proration with quarterly proration of the annual permit fees.  Quarterly proration will enable new operators to pay permit fees in approximate proportion to the number of months they are operating during the April 1 through March 31 permit year.
