District Court Redistricting

District Court Redistricting

In 2021, King County District Court entered into an Interlocal Agreement with the City of Pacific to provide municipal court services.  In order for every resident of Pacific to have the chance to vote on the District Court judges who will serve them, the District Court districting plan needs to be amended to include the portion of Pacific that is in Pierce County. Because Pacific is part of two counties, both the King County and Pierce County councils will take action to amend District Court’s districting plan

RCW 3.38.040 rests responsibility for convening the districting committee with the County Council, requires that the amended plan to be submitted to the County Council no later than March 15, and requires amendments to be approved no later than May 1.

The King County committee is scheduled to meet on March 7, 2022, 1:00-1:30 p.m. on Zoom:
