Public Health Activities
EHE funding expanded the public health infrastructure for providing PrEP, syringe services, HIV testing, condoms, linkage, and re-linkage to care services, and detection and responses to outbreaks of HIV in our community.
Expanded PrEP services
EHE funding expanded the hours PrEP is available at the Public Health Sexual Health Clinic and Harborview Madison Clinic and encouraged expanded access to PrEP through existing King County health systems.
Expanded Syringe Services Program
EHE funding expanded the hours and locations of syringe services programs in King County.
Jail HIV testing
Through EHE we are expanding HIV testing in jails throughout King County.
Condom distribution
EHE funding expanded the locations of Condom Cubes throughout King County and replenished regularly.
Cluster detection and response
EHE funding improved our ability to identify clusters of people living with HIV and offer them HIV testing and PrEP or HIV care services.
Linkage and re-linkage to care
EHE is helping us expand our ability to help people diagnosed with HIV in King County get connected to HIV care or re-connected if they’ve fallen out of care.
Pharmacy-Based PrEP
EHE supports King County pharmacies in implementing strategies to promote and increase access to PrEP for people at risk for HIV.
Support Health Systems' Responses to Syndemics
EHE is working with health systems to increase their capacity to address the syndemics of HIV, Hepatitis C, and other sexually transmitted infections (specifically syphilis) and respond to emergent infections that also disproportionately affect populations at risk for HIV, such as MPox.
