Log Cabin Reach
Log Cabin Reach Natural Area is a 118-acre site on Issaquah Creek, three miles south of the City of Issaquah. This reach of Issaquah Creek stands out in the basin for its high quality stream habitat; this natural area is significant for the size of land that is protected and for the quality of its forested habitat. Ongoing restoration work is replacing blackberries and other invasive weeds with native species, a partnership effort with Tahoma High School outdoor education program and Cascade Land Conservancy.
A pedestrian access road winds about a half mile through open fields and forests and provides access to the creek; small trails branch off the road, leading to different parts of the site.
Access: There is a small driveway on Cedar Grove Rd SE, about 400 feet south of 149th Avenue SE. The pullout provides parking for two cars in front of a locked gate.
A gravel road road provides pedestrian access through the site to the creek, and a number of informal trails access different parts of the site.
