Council Meetings and Standing Committees

The County Council functions through the work of its standing committees and regional committees, which scrutinize proposed legislation prior to consideration by the full Council. Regional committees include elected officials from other jurisdictions. View meeting agendas and our calendar for the time and place of specific committee meetings, or call 206-477-1000.

Meetings are carried live on King County Television on Cable Channel 22, and streamed live through the King County TV website. Council meetings are scheduled for replay on King County TV on Wednesdays at 7:00 p.m. Archived videos of Council meetings are available anytime.

The KCTD is governed by a nine-member board, made up of the members of the King County Council. The current Board Chair is Councilmember Claudia Balducci. Councilmember Dave Upthegrove serves as Vice Chair.

When does the King County Transportation District (KCTD) meet?

The KCTD’s bylaws set three regular meetings each year: the third Monday of April, July, and October at 1:30 PM. However, the KCTD may convene a special meeting with 24 hours public notice.
