King County Events

Kent Residential Recycling Collection Event – June 1st from 9am-3pm at Meridian Middle School (23480 120th Ave SE). Each spring, summer and fall the City of Kent hosts a Recycling Collection Event that allows residents to dispose of recyclable items that are not normally accepted at the curb. Instead of going to the landfill as trash, all items collected at the event will be reused or recycled!

Kent Wastemobile – June 7th, 8th, and 9th from 10am-5pm at the Kent Fire Station #75 (15635 SE 272nd St). The roving Wastemobile travels to many communities in King County to provide residents with a place to take their household hazardous waste on a periodic basis.

Renton Senior Center Metro Transit Orca To-Go Sign up – June 18th from 10am-12pm at the Renton Senior Center (211 Burnett Ave N). Each month ORCA To-Go travels around the Puget Sound area making stops at senior and community centers, major events, fairs, and other key locations to provide on the spot full-service ORCA card sales and assistance. Cash, checks, and major credit cards accepted for payment.

Renton Housing Authority Metro Transit Orca To-Go Sign up – June 18th from 11am-12pm at the Renton Housing Authority (2900 NE 10th St).

King County Veterans Program Hiring Fair – June 20th from 10am-12:30pm at the King County Veterans Program Tukwila Office (645 Andover Park W). This hiring fair is free and open to all and features local employers hiring now for jobs in South King County and Seattle. Find out more about the event here.

City of Burien Events

Burien Strawberry Days & Lowrider Car Show – June 15th from 10am-8pm and June 16th from 10am-4pm in Downtown Burien. This event will feature booths, a beer garden, and live music.

Great Day of Play – June 29th from 10am-2pm at the Moshier Community Art Center (430 S 156th St). This kid-friendly event will include sports and interactive arts activities.

City of Des Moines Events

Des Moines Waterfront Farmers Market – Saturdays, June-September from 10am-2pm and Wednesdays from 4-7pm at the Des Moines Marina Waterfront (22307 Dock Avenue).

Coffee with a Cop – June 19th from 10:30-11:30am at the Des Moines Marina Quarterdeck (22307 Dock Avenue S).

City of Kent Events

Kent Farmers Market – Saturdays, June-September from 9am-2pm in the Town Square Plaza (2nd Ave & Smith St).

Coffee & Conversation with Mayor Dana Ralph – June 5th from 2-4pm at Cutters Point (25246 Pacific Hwy S).

Kent YMCA Job Fair – June 8th from 1-4pm at the Kent Commons: Mill Creek Room (525 4th Ave N). Slated to open in September of 2019, the Kent YMCA is the newest of the Greater Seattle Area Y locations. Full time and part time opportunities are open for lifeguards, swim instructors, fitness instructors, youth and family programs, member engagement representatives, and more! 

8th Annual Linda Sweezer Memorial Juneteenth Festival & Celebration – June 22nd from 10am-6pm at Morrill Meadows Park (10600 SE 248th St). Join the Kent Black Action Commission (KBAC) for the 8th annual Linda Sweezer Memorial Juneteenth Festival and Celebration, a free, family-friendly event with food, games and a community dance.

City of Normandy Park Events

Owl Prowl – Select Fridays, June 12th-August 20th at Nature Trails Park (19250 Marine View Dr SW) or Walker Preserve. Join naturalist Kevin O’Malley at dusk for a guided walk to discover owls in Normandy Park. Call (206) 248-8257 or email for more information or to RSVP.

Renton Farmers Market – Tuesdays, June 4th-September 24th from 3-7pm at Piazza Park (233 Burnett Ave S).

BBQ with the Badges – June 26th from 11:30am-1:30pm at the Renton Community Center (1715 Maple Valley Hwy). Your up-close adventure with local heroes is interactive, informative and inspirational. Register for this event here.

Hazlenut Park Hootenanny – June 26th from 5:30-7:30pm at Hazlenut Park (14475 59th Ave S). Join in on an evening of music, local history, and art.

City of SeaTac Events

Link the World Music & Arts Festival – June 29th from 12-6pm at Angle Lake Park (19408 International Blvd). Join the City of SeaTac at the inaugural Link the World Festival, where you can enjoy an array of local art, music, food and dance.
