Renton Senior Center Metro Transit Orca To-Go Sign-Up – August 15th from 10-11am at the Renton Senior Center (211 Burnett Ave N). Each month ORCA To-Go travels around the Puget Sound area making stops at senior and community centers, major events, fairs, and other key locations to provide on the spot full-service ORCA card sales and assistance. Cash, checks, and major credit cards accepted for payment.

Renton Housing Authority Metro Transit Orca To-Go Sign-Up – August 20th from 10am-12pm at the Renton Housing Authority (2900 NE 10th St).

Burien Community Center Metro Transit Orca To-Go Sign-Up – August 20th from 1:30-4pm at the Burien Community Center (14700 6th Ave SW).

Family Fun Run/Walk – August 21st from 5:30-7:30pm in Burien Town Square Park (480 SW 152nd St). Join this scavenger hunt and race for runners and walkers of all ages. Visit for more information.

Shakespeare in the Park - August 24th at 5pm at Des Moines Beach Park (22030D Cliff Ave S). Join the Des Moines Arts Commission for a Shakespearian production in the park.

Poverty Bay Blues & Brews – August 24th from 12-8pm at Des Moines Beach Park (22030D Cliff Ave S). This event will feature great blues music and craft beers. Tickets required. Visit for more information.

Greater Kent Area Annual Reunion – August 11th from 1-4pm at the Kent Senior Center (600 E Smith St). Come meet old friends, neighbors, and classmates at this fun event.

Coffee & Conversation with Mayor Dana Ralph – August 27th from 9-11am at the Panther Lake Starbucks (10700 SE 208th St). Join Mayor Dana Ralph for an informal chat over coffee. Say hello, talk with the mayor, and share your feedback and concerns.

City of Normandy Park Events

Library 2Go! at Marvista Park – August 21st from 3:30-4:30pm at Marvista Park (200th & 44th Avenue SW). Library2Go! is a free monthly service provided by the King County Library System. A variety of books, audiobooks, DVDs, and CDs for all ages are available for checkout onboard the Library2Go! van.

City of Renton Events

Luau with the Law – August 15th from 5-7pm at the Red Lion Hotel (1 S Grady Way). Renton police presents their first Luau with the Law. Enjoy tropical treats and entertainment by the pool at the Red Lion Hotel and ask representatives from the Renton Police Department questions related to crime prevention or police services. 

Adaptive Recreation Pool Party – August 17th from 6:30-8:30pm at Henry Moses Aquatics Center (1719 SE Maple Valley Hwy). Swimmers of all abilities and ages can experience the water park in a safe secure setting. Staff will help with fear of the water, shyness, motor development abnormalities, and Autism Spectrum Disorder. $5 per participant. Participant aids will be free with participant payment. Movie Night: Spider-Man Into the Spider Verse – August 23rd, 7:45pm-10pm at Highlands Neighborhood Center (800 Edmunds Ave NE). Pre-movie family entertainment starts at 7:45pm. Movie starts at dusk.

City of SeaTac Events

SeaTac Kid’s Fest – August 2nd from 5-10pm at Riverton Heights Park (3011 S 148th St). Enjoy live entertainment, bouncy houses, face painting, craft tables and more. At sunset, kids can watch ‘Lego Movie 2’ on the outdoor screen.

City of Tukwila Events

Sullivan Center Summer Shindig – August 21st from 5:30-7:30pm at Sullivan Center at Tukwila Village (14350 Tukwila International Blvd). Celebrate summer and community with music, dance, and food. Local organizations and resources will share in the fun.
