
Delivering Documents to Superior Court
Filing a New Case
To file a case in Superior Court, you must either file online, mail your documents (plus filing fee) to the Superior Court Clerk's Office or go in-person to the Superior Court Clerk's Office. The Clerk's Office operates at the following locations:

Filing Documents into an Existing Case
Once you have filed your case, if you need to file additional court documents into the same case, you must again either file online, mail your documents (plus filing fee) to the Superior Court Clerk's Office or go in-person to the Superior Court Clerk's Office.

Delivering Working Copies to the Court
If you need to deliver working copies to the court, please observe the following protocols. Note that working copies are NOT the official copies of your court documents. Those must be filed FIRST in the Superior Court Clerk's Office. Working copies are the documents judges and commissioners use to familiarize themselves with your case.
- Do not deliver documents to the courtroom. You may either submit working copies electronically through the Clerk's Office e-filing application(except for any document of 500 pages or more in length which must be delivered in paper form) or deliver them to the judge's mail room.
- For judges assigned to the King County Courthouse (Seattle) and the Youth Services Center / Juvenile Court (Seattle) the mail room is:

- Please obtain prior approval from the court before faxing or e-mailing documents/pleadings.
- Follow the local court rules for pagination of documents.
- Copies of orders will not be mailed unless pre-addressed stamped envelopes are provided. If no envelopes were provided, copies of orders may be obtained from the Clerk's Office approximately five (5) days after a ruling has been issued.
