“Walkpool” – safety in numbers
King County employees, we’ve been listening! Some of you have said you’d feel more comfortable walking to and from work with a buddy or two. In addition to talking to your friends and co-workers to see if they could walk with you, RideshareOnline.com is a great tool for matching yourself with other walkers. Simply create an account, or sign in if you already have one, and enter your origin and destination to see if others match your schedule.
Here's how it works: Simply create an account (sign in if you already have one) and “add a trip“ in your Ride Match / My Trips section. Instead of using your home and work address, enter where you would be walking from (for example, from King Street Station to the Chinook Building) and select ‘Walk’ as your preferred travel mode. Happy walking!
Lockers and showers
Need a place to shower or change after an invigorating bike ride to work? Many King County work sites have lockers and showers available. For more information, visit the activity centers page or contact your Employee Transportation Program Coordinator at ETP@Kingcounty.gov or 206-477-5800.
Special incentive program for King County employees who walk to work
The King County Employee Transportation Program has a special incentive program for county employees who carpool, bike, or walk to worksites outside downtown Seattle.
