Water Conservation - Green Schools Program

Water conservation and pollution prevention

Water conservation is the focus of Level Three of the King County Green Schools Program. Schools and school districts are recognized after they complete Level Three criteria. See Best Practices, resources, and recognition. For a description of the program, visit How it Works.

Teach students why conserving and protecting water is important, engage students and others in your school community in taking action, and reduce water use in your school and district.

Schools use water for classroom instruction such as in science labs, for drinking, cooking, and cleaning, and for irrigating school gardens and grounds. Through education and action, schools can play a vital role in reducing our region's water consumption and protecting this precious natural resource.
