Spawning salmon viewing locations

Bear and Cottage Creeks - View maps and directions for salmon viewing sites near Redmond and Woodinville.

Issaquah Creek - The Issaquah Salmon Hatchery in downtown Issaquah mid-September through November. The hatchery has a docent program that answers public questions about the fish. Call Friends of Issaquah Hatchery (FISH) at 206-427-0259 for more information.

Covington Creek - Coho salmon can be seen in September and October at the roadway bridge on 168th Ave SE, just off the Auburn-Black Diamond Road.

Cedar River - Watch salmon on the Cedar River near Renton while learning about their lives from volunteer naturalists. Schedule and directions are provided.

Snoqualmie River - Chinook Bend - pink and chinook salmon can be seen at Chinook Bend near Carnation. The turnoff is on the north side of Northeast Carnation Farm Rd, just west of the bridge over the Snoqualmie River.

Snoqualmie River - Tolt MacDonald Park - pink and chinook salmon can be seen from the footbridge over the Snoqualmie River at this park. The park is in the town of Carnation, off 203, the Carnation-Duvall Road.

Raging River - Fall City - salmon can be observed in the Raging River in Fall City from SE Dike Rd, east of the Preston Fall City Road (203) between Lake Alice Rd and SE 43rd St.

Soos Creek (Green/Duwamish River) - Chinook salmon can be observed at Hatchery Park just below the Green River Hatchery on the Auburn-Black Diamond Road about 1.5 miles from Highway 18.

Fish hatcheries are a good place to see salmon, but try to see some wild fish too. Hatchery fish are only part of the salmon story in the Pacific Northwest.

Green/Duwamish River - Chinook salmon spawn throughout the Green River mainstem from Auburn to Kanaskat. Good viewing locations for wild spawning include Metzler Park (18737 Green Valley Rd SE), about five miles east of Auburn, and Flaming Geyser State Park, also on Green Valley Road east of Auburn.
