A pathway to achieving our climate goals

The County is tackling climate change in various ways in order to achieve a clean energy future where the region’s local governments, businesses, and communities are working together towards an equitable, sustainable, and thriving King County for all who live, work and play here. King County is working to ensure that climate targets are met through strategic climate action planning and by partnering and collaborating across jurisdictions, businesses, and communities. King County’s Strategic Climate Action Plan (SCAP) outlines the County’s commitments to taking bold action on climate change in order to build strong and resilient communities and create a clean and healthy future for generations to come.

The County has a variety of climate initiatives and programs in place in order to achieve our ambitious climate change goals and targets across all sectors, this includes the 1 Million Trees campaign, the Land Conservation Initiative, the Climate Health Action Team, Metro’s Zero-emission Fleet and more.
