King County and the City of Seattle worked together to enhance salmon habitat in the lower Tolt River. The floodplain restoration project, located along the Tolt River before it joins the Snoqualmie River, in and around Tolt River - John MacDonald Park in Carnation was completed in 2009. The existing levee was set back within the park helping return the river corridor to its natural flood-plain character and improving fish habitat.
