King County Mails Ballots to Nearly 1.4 Million Voters, Launches Ballot Alerts
King County Elections (KCE) mailed out nearly 1.4 million ballots to registered voters across King County today for this year’s General Election. KCE also announced the launch of ballot alerts - text and email notifications that alert voters as their ballot makes its way through the process.

King County Elections will open six Vote Centers to provide in-person assistance to voters across the county. Located in Bellevue, Federal Way, Kenmore, Kent, Renton, and Seattle, Vote Centers will be open Saturday, Monday, and Election Day to help voters get registered and make their voices heard.
King County Elections Calls for Removal of Unauthorized Ballot Drop Box Signs
As voters began to receive their ballots over the weekend, King County Elections began receiving reports of suspicious and intimidating signs placed near ballot drop boxes, warning voters that the drop box is “under surveillance.” Voter intimidation is outlawed at both the state and federal level.
New Ballot Drop Box Now Open at Woodinville City Hall
On Thursday, July 14 King County Elections (KCE), in partnership with the City of Woodinville, opened the 75th drop box location for King County voters at Woodinville City Hall. King County Director of Elections Julie Wise, King County Councilmember Sarah Perry, and Woodinville Mayor Mike Millman gathered to celebrate the new location and officially open the box for the Primary election.
King County Elections Mails Primary Election Ballots
King County Elections (KCE) mailed more than 1.4 million ballots for the August 2, 2022 Primary to registered voters across King County today. KCE is projecting 45% turnout for this election. In 2020, Primary turnout in King County reached 56%. In 2018, voters turned out at 43%.

The candidate filing week for 2022 begins on Monday, May 16 and closes on Friday, May 20. The deadline to withdraw one's candidacy is Monday, May 23.
Online and mail voter registration deadline for February Special Election – January 31, 2022
The February Special election is quickly approaching with ballots due to drop boxes by 8 p.m. sharp or postmarked by Tuesday, February 8. The deadline to register to vote online or by mail (received, not postmarked) is Monday, January 31.
