Releasing kokanee fry in Ebright Creek
On April 21, 2010 the Kokanee Work Group celebrated Earth Day by releasing the last 200 kokanee fry from the first year of the fish recovery program. Joined by King County Executive Dow Constantine, group members gathered in the forest at kokanee advocate Wally Pereyra’s house, shared thoughts on what this release means for kokanee and their recovery, and then placed the fry in the creek. Afterward, the gathering was treated to Ilene Stahl’s tasty and stylish kokanee cookies and to drumming by Snoqualmie Tribe members.
