honors businesses and individuals for their outstanding achievements in environmental stewardship.
Clean up on grants provided by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.
Community Partnerships and Grants
King County contributes use of land and capital improvement grants for successful partnership proposals. Community partners contribute the necessary additional capital, in-kind resources and volunteer time to develop the new or enhanced facility. Groups often take on an element of operations, maintenance and programming of the facility through a long-term agreement with Parks.
Current use taxation programs
Tax reduction programs that encourage conservation of land and water resources, which include important wildlife habitat, wetland and streams, working forests and productive farmlands.
Conservation Futures Program
Grants to acquire open space lands and for passive recreation projects by cities and qualified non-profit entities.
Flood Reduction Grants
Grants for medium to small stormwater control projects that will reduce flooding.
Green Building Grants and Incentives
Apply for funding to support residential or commercial green building in King County, Washington, or for permitting incentives that reward low-impact development in unincorporated areas of the county.
Parks Levy Grants
Grants for parks, recreation, and open space throughout King County through four programs: Parks Capital and Open Space, Aquatic Facilities, Targeted Equity and Open Space River Corridors.
Re-Green the Green
Grants to plant shady vegetation at hotspots along the Green/Duwamish River and tributaries to improve Chinook salmon habitat.
Voucher Incentive Program (VIP)
Up to 50% matching funds for small businesses that reduce the amount of chemicals going down the drain, into landfills, on the ground and into the air. King County supports businesses that support the environment.
WaterWorks Grant Program
Apply for grant funding for projects that benefit water quality in the regional Wastewater Treatment Division service area.
